A CLOSER LOOK:
“Spoken Wordicine” is a fun and profound process whereby we turn inward toward our lived experience and massage our stories into written poetry which we speak aloud into safe space. We offer the gift of allowing another to walk a mile in our shoes in an intentional container, we connect, we transform, we bloom.
CERTAIN WORKSHOP SERIES INCLUDE A BONUS SESSION WITH SPECIAL LIVE GUEST MENTOR- VICTOR WOOTEN!!!
Victor Wooten is a 5-time Grammy Award winner and among the top ten bassists of all time, according to Rolling Stone magazine. He is a legendary bass player who has changed the game with respect to sound and technique, and he has decades of experience with creating mood, texture, rhythm and feel, which very much relate to storytelling and poetry.

DISCLAIMER:
This work is NOT for everyone.
While pretty much everyone finds it scary to write and share poetry around personal lived experience, if it's time to bravely dive in, it will tickle your whiskers, even through resistance or stories of "I can't write" or "poetry is for sissies".
There is not a simple soundbite to describe this work.
It is rich, layered, challenging, badass and FUN.
It is about truth-telling.
It is about sharpening the writing skills.
It is about building bridges through sharing the human experience.
It is about generating new community.
It is about reclaiming the seat of your courage and power.
It is about leaning into discomfort while also respecting limits and boundaries.
It is about constructing a safe container.
It is about genuine laughter and real tears.
It is about making room for all of it, and for all of you.
Let's be super clear on this- you will definitely leave different to the way you walked in. It is a transformative and supported process, in the most glorious sense.
That said, it’s also work. You will meet with resistance- by design. You will be invited to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
More than a poetry writing workshop, Spoken Wordicine is a deep dive into whatever charge, defiances or aversions we’ve been indulging, running from, ignoring or stuffing down so as to generate freedom and space around areas of constriction in the body and mind. Done within a safe, playful container where we get to see and be seen, this process is integrative, generative, restorative and freeing. Words are that powerful a medicine.
Often folks in the throes of a major life event, or shortly after one are magnetized. Conversely, often those who cannot yet identify what story they might have to share, but who feel the stirrings under their skin are called to join. Sometimes those who have recently come into contact with the awe-inspiring or the unspeakable, the traumatic or the ecstatic and who are seeking to somehow put things to words are pulled in. Because if we can name it, we can see it and if we can see it we can integrate with awareness.
If you are interested in generating community, sharpening writing skills, owning the stories that may have been owning you and reclaiming your empowered sovereignty, this is all yours baby.
"A poet needs to keep wilderness alive." -Stanley Kunitz
